Description
This course introduces the fundamental principles of epidemiology and examines how epidemiologic methods are used to understand patterns of disease, communicate evidence-based findings, inform healthcare and public health decisions, and guide policy. Using an epidemiologic lens, the course emphasizes current and emerging health challenges, including health disparities, ethical considerations, and broader contextual forces that influence population health.
Credits: 3.0 Prerequisite or Corequisites: SSC 730 or evidence of a graduate-level statistics course.
