Description

This course applies leadership concepts, conflict management and assertive communication skills to the healthcare
environment. Students will explore the concept of intercultural responsiveness by examining the role of race and
gender in leadership. Students will also explore the role of civic engagement for future healthcare leaders. This course
will help students evaluate their leadership and communication capabilities in the context of their careers as future
healthcare practitioners and Educated Citizens. The NMC portfolio is integrated throughout this course.
Credits: 3.0
Prerequisites: COM 101 and HUM 150 or HUM 152
