Description

American Sign Language (ASL) Linguistics is designed to give students exposure to ASL linguistics, particularly in the
areas of phonology (rules for hand-shapes) and morphology (rules for the creation of words and syntax, the sentence
structure and grammar of ASL). This course will also focus on the history and evolution of ASL. This course is intended
to build upon students’ knowledge of the rules of American Sign Language.
Credits: 3.0
Prerequisite: COM 272
