Description

In this course students begin to understand and appreciate the major themes, sacred text, ritual and symbols, cultural
expressions and historical developments of six religious traditions. Through assigned readings, discussion groups,
online research, field trips (optional) and video clips, students will begin to recognize the commonalities and
differences among these religious traditions. This will also help to better understand some of the important religious
issues that can lead to conflicts in the world today. This course is meant to help students understand these religions,
rather than evaluate according to their own particular religious belief or culture.
