BSN

BSN Requirements: 

  • Cover page with your name, program, and graduation date
  • Table of Contents that specifies each entry (level and goal)
  • One reflection for each goal of the Educated Citizen (Effective Communicator, Reflective Individual, and Change Agent) for each level of your program.
    • A "level" is roughly equivalent to one year within a program.
    • The vast majority of bachelor’s degree students will have four levels for a total of 12 reflections minimum.
  • Label each reflection with your name, level and designated goal. This can be done by divider sheets, tabs, headings, or sticky notes.
  • Current resume
  • Optional: Artifacts displaying your work and achievements throughout your time at NMC.  Artifacts are not required, but our strongly encouraged, as they help to demonstrate your wide array of accomplishments during your college career.  Some examples of artifacts include academic papers, awards received, photos, and scholarship letters.  
  • Optional: Critical Reflective Essay to achieve Portfolio of Distinction and Educated Honor Society.  If you wish to be eligible for Portfolio of Distinction and the Educated Citizen Honor Society, please see the tab marked "Awards and Recognition."

RN-BSN

RN-BSN Requirements: 

  • Cover page with your name, program, and graduation date
  • Table of Contents that specifies each entry (level and goal)
  • One reflection for each goal (Effective Communicator, Reflective Individual, and Change Agent) of the Educated Citizen for each level of your program. 
    • RN-BSN students will have a total of 6 reflections (3 reflections from each level) minimum.
    • A "level" is roughly equivalent to one year within a program.  Students may complete the RN-BSN program in different amounts of time, but all RN-BSN students will have 2 levels (3 and 4).
    • Your first 3 reflections (level 3) should be about things that happened during the first half of your program.  Your second 3 reflections (level 4) should be about things that happened during the 2nd half of your program.  
    • Your level 4 reflections will be required assignments in your Capstone SSC 465 class.
  • Label each reflection with your name, level, and designated goal. This can be done by divider sheets, tabs, headings, or sticky notes.

LPN-BSN

LPN-BSN Requirements:

    • LPN-BSN students will have a total of 9 reflections (3 reflections from each year of the 3-year program)
  • Label each reflection with the level and designated goal. This can be done by divider sheets, tabs, headings, or sticky notes.

Portfolio Requirements for Healthcare Administration, Imaging Sciences, Women's Medical Imaging, Health Sciences, and Respiratory Care:

ACE

Portfolio Requirements:

  • Table of Contents that specifies each entry (level and goal)
  • One reflection for each goal of the Educated Citizen for each level of your program.
    • ACE students will have a total of 6 reflections (3 reflections from each half of the 15 month program) minimum.
    • A "level" is roughly equivalent to one year within a program.  Because the ACE program is an accelerated program, your levels equate to approximately 7-8 months each.
    • Your first 3 reflections (level 3) should be about things that happened during the first half of your program.  Your second 3 reflections (level 4) should be about things that happened during the 2nd half of your program.
    • Your level 4 reflections will be required assignments in your Capstone SSC 465 class.
