Prerequisites: Advanced standing (LPN)
This transition course is designed to enable the licensed practical nurse to achieve advanced placement in the BSN curriculum. Emphasis
is placed on the theoretical and philosophical frameworks necessary to assume the role of a second level nursing student. Interpersonal
communication techniques, caring, change theory, developmental theory, nursing process and the role of the professional nurse in
community-based nursing are explored. Nursing skills are reviewed.
