Students begin to integrate a broad range of concepts related to children and adults in the community. Content focuses on health promotion, illness prevention, maintenance and management of acute and chronic health problems. The differences in communication with clients across the life span are examined. The course facilitates professional role development, critical thinking and the use of humanistic/scientific principles and research as the basis of culturally competent care.
