Description

This course is designed to help students understand the emotional aspects of suffering, illness, grief, loss and crisis. It is
based on Watson’s caring approach to the human person and focuses strongly on the psychological, social and spiritual
aspects of client well-being. Students examine common crises and changes that occur in human life. Students use
critical thinking strategies and the nursing process to identify appropriate and professional nursing interventions.
Communication and other caring approaches to clients in crisis are studied. Students are also involved in personal and
professional reflections dealing with their own life experiences and life journey.
