Description

This course introduces the basic concepts of Informatics in nursing. The course also focuses on legislation in healthcare
and professional activism. Students learn the nurse’s role in healthcare advocacy, policy development and change
individually and through professional organizations. Based on the determinants of health at the local, state and
national levels, students identify a population health issue and develop a healthcare policy to implement change.
Credits: 3.0
Prerequisites: All pre-program requirements are completed or by permission
