Description
This course examines Occupational Therapy theory, practice models and frames of reference. The influence of history,
sociopolitical issues and healthcare policies are examined. The application of evidence-based critical reasoning and
occupation based services for diverse populations are applied. Ethical practice guidelines and decision-making for the
occupational therapist in clinical practice are investigated. Foundational skills to occupational therapy will be discussed
in relation to different practice settings, as well as the delineation of professional roles within these practice settings.
