In order to receive nursing contact hours or education credit for this course please complete the following required steps:

  • Participants are expected to review all course content and complete the entire course.
  • Pass the test with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Complete the evaluation within 30 days of passing the test. The evaluation will include questions stemming from information provided in all course content.
  • Access to this course will end on 12/31/2020.

 
Instructions:

  1. View all Power Point presentations in their entirety. 
  2. Take the test. You must pass with a minimum score of 80% to be eligible for Continuing Education contact hours. You have two attempts to pass.
  3. Within 5 business days of passing the test, you will receive the evaluation email.
  4. After filling out the evaluation, your certificate will be issued within 1 hour.

NMC Professional Development

This activity is designed to provide insight to the responsibilities of being a preceptor, things to consider when communicating with others, and how to help manage conflict and stress.

  1. Identify common characteristics of preceptors and the primary roles and responsibilities of a preceptor.
  2. Apply effective techniques when giving and receiving feedback.
  3. Describe conflict management styles, phases of reality shock and how to manage types of stress.
  4. Demonstrate effective communication skills when working with different personality types, different learning styles, and generational and cultural differences.

In order to receive Continuing Education contact hours for this course please complete the following required steps:

  • Completion of self-study packet.
  • Pass the "post test assessment" with a score of 80% or higher.
  • Completion of the program evaluation (located on the left) within 30 days of passing the test.

Your access to this course expires on September 30, 2017. Course requirements must be completed within that time frame in order to be awarded credit.
