Plagiarism is a serious problem and all students must be aware of what plagiarism constitutes and the penalties that may occur.

Students found to be acting dishonestly are subject to disciplinary actions ranging from reprimand to dismissal. Depending on the severity of the offense, the consequences may include suspension or dismissal at any level of offense.

If a student commits plagiarism on written assignments (whether this is intentional or not), the penalties to be assessed will be as follows:

  1. On the first offense, the grade on the assignment plagiarized will be reduced to 0; and
  2. On the second offense, the course grade will be reduced to “F” and the student may be dismissed from the   program .
