Description

This course focuses on the transplantation system and transplant care in the U.S. The organizational framework will
present indications, survival and the transplant process of each type of transplant including solid organ and blood cell
transplantation. Long-term complications of transplant, age-related issues, infectious complications, immunology and
immunosuppression will be depicted. Psychosocial, ethical and financial issues in transplantation will be explored.
Credits: 3.0
Prerequisite: Prerequisites are the Arts and Sciences courses in semesters 1,2 and 3, NRS 102 Population Health I.
Pre/Corequisites: Pre/corequisites are enrollment in NRS 200 Population Health II and NRS 201 Public Health Science
or higher.
