Description
This course focuses on critical examination of healthcare issues and policies that impact a changing global community,
emphasizing the nurse’s role in advocacy and professional activism. Students will examine populations from a social
science perspective. Social determinants of health at local, state, and national levels will be examined and students will
engage in public policy research on an identified social issue. Students will analyze, evaluate, and create possible
solutions to global healthcare issues.
