Description
In this course, students synthesize aspects of technology in the nursing informatics role. Students select a nursing
informaticist in a healthcare setting to serve as a preceptor. Collaborative opportunities within the practicum setting
will be explored. Students develop and implement a performance improvement project. Direct interaction in the
precepted experience allows for the practical application of knowledge to the advanced nursing practice specialty of
informatics.
Credits: 4.0 / 126 practicum hours
Prerequisites: All program coursework except NRS 559, NRS 592 and NRS 594, or by permission.
