Description

This course will concentrate on human population and the need to control factors that are harmful to human life. The course will
emphasize methods of controlling communicable diseases, wastewater treatment, solid waste management, insect & rodent control,
radiation control and environmental health hazards. Particular emphasis will be place on environmental factors related to respiratory
conditions such as asthma, lung cancer, and emphysema. The course concludes with the human impact on resources and ecosystems,
management of pollution, as well as decision making regarding the positive and negative effects of the choices a person makes that affect
personal health.
