Our theme will be "Techno-Charged Teaching!" (see the agenda below) where we will be exploring a number of apps and technologies that can boost student engagement and provide us with insights into what our students are (or are not) understanding. This day will be BYOD (Bring-Your-Own-Device), so grab your laptop, tablet, and/or smart phone and come ready to get digitally down and dirty!

Dr. Haggar holds a Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and a Doctoral degree in educational administration. Dr. Haggar will be discussing the roles that technology can have in increasing student engagement as well as providing constructive and timely feedback.

Gettin’ Gritty: Developing Technology-Enhanced Activities

After receiving a brief overview of the vast array of instructional technologies that are available and a Backward Design process, we will be diving into our courses. In this session, you will be rolling up your sleeves, teaming up with a partner, and working towards “techno-charging” an activity in one of your online or on-ground classes. ADA & UDL: Learning Empowerment Through Technology

Description for this session:

Techno-charging our classes can be an invigorating and transformative experience for us as well as our students. However, we also need to recognize that our students come with varying types and levels of capabilities, knowledge, etc. This session will focus on ADA considerations and how to use Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to help guide our course development.
